ALPENHOTEL KRONPRINZ

The Alpenhotel Kronprinz is a comfortable 4-star hotel in the Bavarian Berchtesgaden. It is situated on a quiet hill, about ten minutes’ walk from the historic centre, and offers beautiful panoramic views of the Watzmann and Hoher Göll mountain ranges. The hotel has 66 spacious rooms, many with balconies and mountain views. Guests can make use of a rich breakfast buffet, a panoramic restaurant, the cosy Bavarian beer and wine tube “Zum Faßl”, a sauna and steam room, free Wi-Fi and free parking. We had a nice somewhat dated room with spectacular views of the Watzmann. We expected a little more for the price we paid.

We booked the hotel because we wanted to use the sauna. Upon arrival we were informed that the sauna was not working. We asked for a discount and were instead offered a sauna outside the hotel. This was only communicated to us in the evening when we wanted to go out for dinner. Also otherwise we found the staff at the reception not treated friendly Possibly the hotel is not run. Often, such problems lie on the line. So not recommended from our point of view. G.K.

Wow what a surprise, really a lovely hotel, spacious room and good abendessen. Nice starting point for day trips and for our voir to the Kelhstein skin
