Hotel Bayerischer Hof

I booked through Booking.com, maybe that was the reason; I received a single room that was furnished more like a bed and breakfast. No room safe, no minibar (I don't need one, but I do need a room safe), old shower stall. For this, the hotel has been equipped with a complex lighting control system, so that a booklet with technical instructions is provided in the room so that you can turn the light on and off. There are good reasons why the simple light switch system has prevailed. Sleeping was difficult; there was a party and the window could not block out the noise. The breakfast was okay but not really like in a 4-star establishment. The only sliced fruit available was melon; I have nothing against melon, but of course, compared to a fruit salad, it takes hardly any work and is cheap; the Bircher muesli must also have a different recipe than elsewhere. I chose the hotel because I needed to be close to the city center and the train station; that it is, but I cannot bring myself to rate it as more than satisfactory. The employee at the reception was friendly, the Wi-Fi worked.

A neat hotel, clean and a fine bathroom with bath and toilet. We only had to pay 16 euros for parking the car, we had not seen. The breakfast was good and delicious. Service was fine. Disadvantage, in the middle of the night the lights spontaneously came on twice. The light was such a thing. The bedside lamps can either be both on or both off.

The hotel was the location for the second overnight stay during our cycling tour. The offered rooms were comfortable and equipped with all necessities. The reception and care during our stay left nothing to be desired. The highlight was the lavish breakfast in the vaulted cellar the next morning, which far exceeded our expectations.
