Schlosskrone (Kurcafe)

We visited this hotel on our way to Italy with 4 adults. We took a room and breakfast and a parking space. The slightly more expensive price range is completely justified. A good reception, a top room with all the luxury and well-maintained. A super good and extensive breakfast. We often go to Germany and this stay invariably ends up in our top 5. The location in the center couldn't be better either. Downsides: narrow passage in the garage and a blind that was broken, otherwise definitely a recommendation.

Very disappointing - the hotel has long seen its best days. Need for renovation, modernization, and maintenance everywhere. Bookings are charged in full to the credit card 6 days before arrival. Price and performance do not match. I would not book it again.

The best thing about this hotel is its great location, which is just a few minutes by foot from the old town. Our room was fine, if somewhat spartan, with a weak A/C. Based on other reviews we skipped the restaurant for dinner, but did have the included breakfast, which was good. The staff were very correct but not exactly warm, which I think might reflect a difference in cultural expectations between Americans and Germans.
