Wittelsbacher Hof Swiss Quality Hotel

The hotel is well located in the village about 5 minutes walk from the main street where the large amount of restaurants and shops are located. A walk to the Olympic Stadium takes about 30 minutes. I came by car and got the opportunity to park in the garage which was very convenient. However, I suspect parking can become a crowded sector if the hotel is fully booked. It is noticeable that it was a few years since the hotel underwent any major renovation. The room felt a bit dated here and was and was also quite crowded. The room also had no air conditioning and I had time to worry that the nights would be very hot as it was about 30 degrees during the daytime when I visited. But to the balcony there were shutters that made the balcony door open during the night and the temperature remained bearable. The view from the balcony towards the mountains and jumping slopes was also a positive aspect. Breakfast is the best thing about the hotel. I ate early both days and then it was very calm. The range had everything you would expect. The staff laid out smaller amounts and replenished after which it was needed, which kept things fresh. The pool and relaxation area can be said to have seen its best days pass by far. The pool was certainly clean but quite cold and the other parts felt properly worn. It worked to be there for a little while, but if you value a proper relaxation area, you should consider another hotel. Overall, the hotel grew on me during the stay and most of it was on a good level. The shortcomings that existed could be lived with and overall I got a couple of good nights. The rating given to the hotel is a bit pole in thanks to good breakfast and friendly staff.

Hotel is dated as others have stated. Shown to room by the receptionist. Beds are uncomfortable as are the pillows. Bathroom is fine. Room not cleaned on one occasion. Hotel has a pool but surrounds and windows could do with a good clean. Breakfast was fine and the ladies who helped serve were excellent. Hotel is handy to train and bus terminal. Not the best hotel in the region

At the beginning of June 2026, we were with several people at the Wittelsbacher Hof. On the websites of the various providers, the accommodation initially sounded very good: 4 stars, good location. Although I had also read the bad reviews, I did not want to be deterred, as it is a 4-star hotel. This would turn out to be a mistake! The hotel is by no means worth its 4 stars. That may have been the case 40 years ago, but the hotel has aged so much that the furniture in some places is outrageous! On the window frames, the paint has peeled off the wood in many places, and in some cases, the wood has broken away; this is also partly the case with the door frames. The positive aspect: the location is really very central! The indoor pool also has a pleasant size, as does the adjacent garden, which is very well maintained. The breakfast was very substantial, and the staff was really very nice and friendly, except for the host and the hostess!!! One time of day, they did not know the two. Without raising their gaze or even mentioning the time of day, they silently passed by. This manner is not exactly customer-friendly!!! We are sorry, but we unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel and will not book accommodation there again!
