Hotel am Viktualienmarkt

Spent two nights here during opening weekend of Oktoberfest. It’s within easy walking distance to Marienplatz, hofbräuhaus and other brew houses, restaurants, outdoor markets, shopping and metro stations. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean. Would stay here again.

We stayed two nights with our Rick Steves tour group. It was overall a wonderful stay. The room was small with no a/c, but it did have two fans. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was usual for Europe, tiny but with everything we needed. The elevator is tiny and slow and the stairs are pretty steep but doable. The location is wonderful and walkable to most things in Munich. Lots of restaurant and bar options close. In spite of being right on the street, it was quiet. Breakfast was wonderful with excellent coffee and many choices. I’d stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights; it was a very positive experience! Central location, welcoming and kind staff, excellent breakfast, clean. I highly recommend it and hope to return soon.
