Good facilities, good location, not very far from the lake. Bad maintenance, not acceptable a lift broken for days long. Mistake in the check_out, asking for higher rate than the booked price. Bad breakfast experience one of the days, because of the lack of variety. The hotel was not full, and the service was relaxed. Rest, as expected.

The building is modern, with the charme of a converted swimming hall, more functional than beautiful. Breakfast with a minimum of choice and quality you may expect in a hotel in this price class. Rooms were well sized, but again, all equipment like cushions and so on rather cheap. In addition one og our rooms was ground floor right next to the main street, which was not agreeable. All the time you would have the impression that the management is trying to cut down expenses to a minimum while charging maximum price. (Well, this is probably true for many hotels, but one shouldn't notice, should you?) The biggest challenge was the staff. First we thought they were really unfriendly. Later we got to the impresission that the staff was very friendly but as well very much afraid of doing things wrong and get scolded for it. Thus, there were a lot of things that were not allowed to do like taking the last cup of coffe to your room after breakfast or having breakfast on the terrasse early in the morning or having the dog (that you are charged for, of course!) in the room of your choice, not taking the towel to the lake nearby, not taking any food with you from the breakfast room ... More like a very strict boarding school with signs indicating Forbidden! everywhere. It is as well the first hotel I have seen that has a sealed minibar. We were there for three nights, and I was glad when it finally was time to leave.

Pictures in the internet creates cozier image as it is. Rooms are ok. But the whole building is clumsy, labyrinths of difficult to use space. Bar lounge is the only cozy place inviting to sit. The entrance area and reception could be change without any high costs by a good decorator. The pool - is not inviting. I am not going even to try it. Please, use some life plants to crest some coziness. The kitchen - sorry to say. But both the breakfast buffet and dinner are canteen like... neither something for the eyes nor the taste. It was good timing to barely eat anything as I added some kilograms by tasting various places around Starnberger see. Spacious parking. The garden is barely used. There is nothing to do for kids. Terrace looks inviting, but the chairs are dirty and very uncomfortable. WiFi - barely functions... quite typical for Germany. The connection is not sufficient for video conferencing.
