This was a charming, warm, welcoming hotel. It is very convenient to everywhere. Two blocks from the Hofbrauhaus and about a 7 minute easy walk to Marienplatz. There is the Town Hall with the beautiful glockenspeil as well as the Ubahn with tram just up the way at Karlsolatz. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, nothing was too much to ask. The kitchenette was perfect for morning coffee, tea and even a simple meal if you wanted. They serve a full breakfast as well as an à la carte breakfast. We will stay here again anytime we are in Munich

This is an excellent hotel in a great location at a reasonable price. The Maximilian isn't super luxury, but the room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable and there was a kitchenette with a microwave, cook top, full fridge and freezer, and enough utensils for you to cook a meal if you wish. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's located in the old town and a very short walk to Marianplatz, the centre of Munich. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops just around the corner from the hotel. Isartor S Bahn station is 350M away and lines from there run directly to the airport. I will definitely stay there again when I'm next in Munich.

This was my first time in Munich, so I wanted to be close to Old Town and the sights. The location of Maximilian was perfect, a short walk from everything. Only 7 minutes from the Marienplatz and all the restaurants. The room was a little dated in its furnishings, like a little 70's vibe. But it had everything you need: kitchenette stocked with cups, plates, etc. Comfortable bed and a little balcony overlooking their courtyard. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast choices downstairs; rather limited and a bit bland. There was also a water heater issue while I was there and I wound up taking very cold showers two of the three days I stayed there. Munich is an expensive city to stay in and given the cost, I think I might opt for something a tad more upscale if I ever returned.
