Quality Hotel Augsburg

I am a travel manager for a company that is based close to this hotel, and we have many people that stay here because it's close to our building. There are a few things about this hotel that bring people to it... but there are also MAJOR drawbacks! Pro's - They have an AMAZING breakfast buffet.... it's expensive, and if you're a big breakfast eater... then you might think it's worth it. Me personally... I thought it was WAYYYY too much food, too many selections, and far too extravagant to be reasonable. If this was a luxury hotel in a high tourist area, maybe... but for business... we don't have an hour and a half for breakfast. - The lobby is beautiful, and has fun things to do in case you are wanting to have something entertaining to do in the evening, - Close to what seems to be the "business district" of Augsburg. Con's - There are very few rooms that have been "updated"... and even the ones that are supposed to be updated, still look OLD. There are extremely outdated kitchenettes in each room, that honestly look like they are a major fire hazard more than anything else. The hotel would be far better served to replace those kitchenettes with closet space or something more functional. - The air conditioning BARELY works. And when I say BARELY.... I mean the least amount of cool air possible. The air conditioners are placed above the entry door to the room, (EXTREMELY UNUSUAL, and as far from the bed as possible) so that might have something to do with how it functions, but in the summer heat... it's a total NO GO for me. - There are no screens on the windows. ANY of the windows. And while this is common throughout most of Germany... it also means that when the windows are opened, critters and insects can get into the rooms. For example, when I was there it was VERY warm and the hotel opened all the hallway windows to let the place cool off. When I came back to my room in the evening, there were DOZENS of HUGE spiders all throughout the hallways... on every floor, and in my room. Just a simple screen would have prevented this. - The bathrooms are VERY tight. Hardly any counter space at all.. and very tight quarters. I would much rather have less space in the bedroom area and more space in the bathroom... just my personal preference. - Door Locks are old, and dont work very well, creating a feeling of unsafe conditions, especially for women. Needless to say.... I left the hotel and went to another. There are tons of great hotels in Augsburg. Most have their own quirks, but in my opinion... this one is not worth the price per night.

This charming hotel offers absolutely perfect service. The helpful staff is always there in every situation. The breakfast is first-class and offers a wide selection.

An ageing house the rooms are very clean But this is made up for by the extraordinarily extensive breakfast. There is also free parking on site
