Ibis Muenchen Parkstadt Schwabing

Friendly welcome Clean, modernly furnished room Good cocktails Diverse breakfast buffet in a beautiful setting Parking available in the associated underground garage

Friendly staff, good breakfast, rooms actually large with floor-to-ceiling windows on 2 sides, but... in the heat not bearable or enjoyable, as there is no air conditioning and despite shutters and fans it heated up to 30 degrees. 4 stars and with this type of construction no air conditioning in the summer? Big minus!

I was a guest at this hotel from 07/02/2026 to 07/03/2026 for a conference. First, I would like to highlight the positive aspects. The rooms were clean but worn. I would like to especially mention the lady at breakfast on 07/03/2026 at the reception (unfortunately, I do not know her name). She was extremely friendly, pleasant, and attentive. Also, a big compliment to the cook or, presumably, the head chef. He was very accommodating, always had an overview of his guests, and ensured a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, this is contrasted by service that, in my view, urgently needs to be improved. I have not experienced such unmotivated and unfriendly treatment of guests in a long time. Already at check-in around 11:00 a.m., I was greeted with the words: "There is no room." At first, I thought my reservation did not exist. Only afterwards was it explained that the room would not be ready for occupancy until 3:00 p.m.; furthermore, one should recognize when a customer has gold status. That a room is not yet available before the official check-in time is a matter of course. However, the manner of communication was unfortunate and not very hospitable. Also at the bar, the staff unfortunately did not make a good impression. We wanted to order an espresso from the coffee machine behind the bar. The employee reacted in an annoyed and snappish manner with the statement: "That will take 15 minutes!", obviously because he did not feel like turning on the machine. In the evening, we wanted to have a drink on the terrace. Unfortunately, no one came for a long time to take an order. Therefore, we went to the bar ourselves. There, the employee explained to us in an unfriendly tone that she had no time and the bar was closed. A service-oriented alternative or a friendly explanation was unfortunately missing. Especially from a Melia hotel with a 4-star standard, I expect a significantly more professional and hospitable service. The hotel has good potential, and individual employees do excellent work. It is all the more regrettable that the overall impression was so clearly tarnished by several negative encounters with the service staff. I hope that the management understands this feedback as constructive criticism and makes the necessary improvements in the area of service and guest relations.
