Explorer Hotel Neuschwanstein

Judging by the noise at night, this is more of a hourly hotel. In this regard, the inflated price also fits. In this hotel, there is grunting, moaning, and screaming as if you were in a canyon screaming for help. The poor family with children who were sleeping in the neighboring rooms. And when you thought, well finally they're done, it started all over again. Terrible night, hardly any sleep possible. I don't want to know what was going on in the spa; I avoided that area entirely. Creepy thought. Breakfast would be worth 20 euros/day to me, overnight stay only 60 euros/night. Nothing more! I paid 156 euros/night incl. breakfast and tourist tax! It is absolutely not worth it! Sorry, but I have never had this experience in any hotel in my life and, after a long journey and a day of hiking, I can gladly do without it! Oh yes, the next morning it started all over again in the next room with the balcony door open! Thank God I have a vuvuzela app on my smartphone. I left the hotel in a hurry.

We have been visiting the Explorer Hotel since 2014 and have always been satisfied. The location is simply wonderful. The hotel was always dog-friendly, but what we had to experience this time was an imposition and an act of insolence from one of the employees. We have full understanding that a dog should not be near the breakfast buffet. In the past, we therefore always sat in a very distant corner of it. This time, however, we were not even allowed to drink a coffee in the lobby with the dog. The very resolute, unfriendly lady said that this was not allowed. Dogs are also not allowed to be in the lobby during this time. They are supposed to stay in the room. When we objected that this had never been a problem with the other staff members in the past, the lady said in all seriousness: Yes, those employees who tolerated this have all been fired. How brazen can one be? As if staff in the hotel and catering industry are lining up for a job. If the hotel does not want dogs, we have full understanding for that as well. Of course, we always Google beforehand whether dogs are allowed. In this case, however, they are happy to take the 20.00 euro fee for the dog, but the dog itself should preferably not be seen. Charging 20.00 euros for the dog and then having such an extreme aversion to dogs is definitely not okay in our opinion. Then the management should be honest and not allow dogs at all. In any case, we felt more than unwelcome and will draw our own conclusions from this. We even preferred to go into the town of Nesselwang for dinner, where the dog was allowed to sit quietly under the table. In the past, it was always possible to have a little something to eat at Hotel Explorer in the so-called breakfast room. Really a shame! And very, very disappointing!

Unfortunately we are extremely disappointed with the Explorer Neuschwanstein, in Garmisch we were able to meet an extremely friendly and competent staff. Leg arrival we were immediately disrespected until we had the rooms already an hour passed although no other customer was at the reception. The three young men were unfocused and preferred to be busy with other things than serving us now, preferring to fool with each other. Then finally the room card in hand, we went to the room and then both room cards wrong, one did not go at all the other card opened another roomr.. We're down again, we've been assigned indirect blame, that couldn't be it. One is then upstairs with us to check if the room cards really don't work. then down again new programming , no apology etc. The rooms weren't really clean either, greasy windows and the white bed varnishes had dirt marks. It didn't smell good in the bathroom, the soap dispenser malfunctioned. Breakfast in the morning, was not as fresh and rich as in the same hotel in Garmisch. Strange was also that you had to pay in advance and not on departure. In the village there are few opportunities to get something good to eat. Why the hotel is called Neuschwanstein is also a mystery to me, as Neuschwanstein Castle is about 22 km away and the bus does not go there directly. Without a car, you're here in the pampas. All in all, in direct comparison Explorer Garmisch and Explorer Neuschwanstein, 5 stars Garmisch and one star - Neuschwanstein.
