ibis Hotel Nurnberg Altstadt

We wanted to be close to the train station and close to the old town. Booked the Ibis Altstadt for 2 nights. At my request, a double room with elevator access was reserved for us (the two upper floors have no elevator), as my partner has a walking disability. We were welcomed very kindly, the lady explained to us where the breakfast room is, and our room request was also fulfilled. The lady asked if it would be okay that it was "facing the front." - We slept very well, nothing bothered us... well, we were also dog-tired. When I went to the window at night, I couldn't believe my eyes: in Nuremberg, they turn night into day; such a hustle and bustle up and down Königsstraße was quite intense. The room was very austere: 2 beds and a lot of shelves with a built-in tabletop for the TV. - There was 1 chair... there were two of us. That was the only negative point. Room and bathroom were very clean, mattresses comfortable, snow-white towels. Very friendly staff! And last but not least: a fantastic breakfast buffet, nothing was missing. So many appetizingly prepared little things. I was very pleased, and we would love to come back... even facing the front :-))

As a train traveler with light luggage, this is certainly a good hotel. Approx. 5 minutes' walk from the train station, right in the city center. Also fine for car travelers; the parking garage is located in the train station, so you have approximately the same walking distance. For loading and unloading, it is tolerated to stop briefly with the car in the zone in front of the hotel. The rooms are fine, actually quite spacious for an ibis hotel, although you should not have too high expectations for the amenities.

Nice hotel in a great location. Great parking at the rail station and a short walk to hotel. Some great eateries nearby. Hotel was basic, clear and quiet and staff were great.
