Hotel St. Georg

We liked the hotel and Regensburg. Unfortunately, the reception upon arrival was disappointing. The receptionist seemed very impatient, was curt, and made us feel more like a burden than welcome guests. A customer-oriented and friendly welcome at the front office would have significantly improved the stay. The breakfast also failed to impress. The selection and quality were lackluster and were on the level of a youth hostel. The birthday decorations for my wife at the breakfast table, which were discussed in advance by phone, were ignored by the hotel. A big compliment to the employee at check-out, who acted very professionally, empathetically, and courteously.

During our stay with our graduating class, we unfortunately had extremely negative experiences. Already at check-in, we felt the treatment by the reception staff was unfriendly and not very accommodating. From our perspective, the hotel does not seem to be suitable for school classes. There is a special set of house rules for class groups with numerous restrictions and regulations that we perceived as not very child- or youth-friendly. We also found the policies regarding the security deposit to be critical. We were informed that this could be withheld for reasons including excessive noise. It is important to know that the doors in this hotel generally slam shut loudly, which makes a quiet stay completely impossible. Furthermore, we had the impression that individual accusations were made against our group that we could not understand. The room amenities did not convince us either. The carpet appeared heavily worn and the beds were clearly sagging, which significantly impaired sleep comfort. There was no way to keep drinks cold. Additionally, the vending machine in the hallway was not restocked during our stay, so no drinks could be purchased there. Overall, from our perspective, the hotel does not meet the requirements we have for accommodation for school classes. Based on our experiences, we would not recommend it for class trips.

The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the old town of Regensburg in a side street. From here you can also explore a lot by public transport. The hotel is tastefully decorated and very clean and tidy in all areas. The room is very nicely decorated and spacious. The mattresses are great, you can sleep very well. The bathroom is not exactly small either and the shower is great. The breakfast buffet is varied and there is something for everyone. Tasty as well as very good quality. The whole team is very friendly and accommodating. There's a great team here. Here you can really feel comfortable and enjoy. We will definitely come back.
