* The room is carpeted, dark and damp (smells like it too), and I believe there were mites in my bedsheets, as I received 21 bug bites across my entire body over my stay (I had zero before arriving and did not stay in any previous hotels on my trip). * Reception is almost always unmanned, and it took 30 minutes to check in. The lockboxes for keycards for every room all have the exact same combination (unsafe). * Room service did not change bedsheets (over our 4 night stay), just towels. * Wi-Fi connection is inconsistent and cuts out frequently. * The tap scatter sprays, and the shower head is very weak and it will take you a long time to shower with long hair. * Found a carpet beetle, which would have been cute if it wasn't crawling on my face and waking me up. * Staff basically dismissed me, even though I got bug bites on parts of my body that were ONLY exposed inside the hotel room AND I kept the windows shut the entire time (except when room service conveniently left it open, but this was after getting many bites already). I am not the only one. Most of the 5* reviews on Google are likely planted, they have zero writing. Sort by low scores and you will see many others, who reported similar experiences to me. They all happen to be more recent also. If you are visiting for ESC, public transport in Germany was very reliable for me and there is a station right into the conference centre. Staying somewhere else and commuting is likely cheaper (they jack the prices up during the conference), whereas staying here will absolutely compromise your ability to present and network. I hope your trip goes better than mine.

Found this one really difficult to review as it varied greatly in the experience. We were there for a 4 day conference at the local conference centre and for that it did the business at a reasonable rate. We booked on the recommendation of German colleague So to summarise: PLUS POINTS: It is located a 5 minute walk from the convention centre so we walked there every morning, considering there was a conference on the value was good, The rooms were warm, dry, clean and had the basics, once you got past the 'brusque' exterior our hostess was quite friendly and accommodating even doing some required ironing for us at no extra charge, and offering the use of umbrellas; its not corporate so has the potential to be quite homely AVERAGE POINTS: the breakfast was ok - plentiful reasonably varied continental style, the car park is tiny (3 cars only), its all a bit basic (almost spartan) in its décor; the internet worked but it was a bit of a rigmarole and wasn't that quick NEGATIVE POINTS:There was no tea making facilities, the bed was a single, the welcome was brusque and the advertised ironing facilities weren't available. It is not corporate so misses out on some of the basic requirements. It is in a residential area and so here isn't much in the way of bars, restaurants etc OVERALL VERDICT: Would I stay there again? Yes probably if I was on conference - it does the job at a fairly basic level

Located in residential area bit away from any major facilities but 5 min walk to train/subway station and 15 min walk to ICM congress centre . Very quiet (I think only 8-10 rooms). Rooms are big, comfy and clean. bathroom rather large with floor heating. Breakfast nothing to complain and WiFi worked fine. If you need local bar or restaurant Hotel Prinzregent behind the corner will provide anything you need in this matter. Sauna can be a bonus if arranged earlier. In summary little, quiet and clean hotel bit away from main attractions but easy access to them by perfect German public transport close by.
