I stayed in this hotel for three nights in room 648; the entire staff was always very friendly and accommodating. The room seems spacious and is freshly renovated. In my opinion, the ideal mix between modernity and the charm of the hotel was achieved. Furthermore, it was noticeable that the building is very well insulated, which is why it was always quiet in the rooms despite the very central location. Although parts of the hotel are currently being renovated, the construction work was at no time bothersome. It is also positive to note here that an attempt is always being made to continue developing. It was a bit of a shame that there was no restaurant in the hotel during our stay. The breakfast was very delicious and well-selected. Nevertheless, I would say that it is not extraordinary in its scope, which is not a bad thing, however, because the individual components and ingredients are of top quality. The location of the hotel is, as already mentioned, very central, but one should be aware that the nearest subway (line U1) runs only to a very limited extent, which is why one should be prepared to transfer.

I think the investor around town bought the hotel with the intention of leasing it to the municipality to serve as accommodation for refugees! How else can it be explained that the rooms still did not meet the standards of Central Europe? The hotel's famous bar and restaurant are already closed. The lobby bar still does not serve cocktails before 20:00 and we are abruptly rejected. Smoking is only allowed in the inner courtyard, on the order of the investor (information from the reception); I have lived in Israel and Luxembourg, where the investor is from; as long as local laws are respected, there are no smoking problems in any of these countries! Bad service and reception environment; IHG (Platinum) benefits are denied! Berlin offers hotels suitable for all budgets and all requirements at affordable prices! Book any other 4- or 5-star hotel, but not this 2-star hotel in decline
