Best Western Hotel Berlin Mitte

Perfect start to the day – Thank you, Ms. Pham! A huge compliment to Ms. Pham for the breakfast buffet at the B&B Hotel Berlin-Mitte! I was delighted by the warm way in which everyone is greeted here every morning. The selection is fresh, abundant, and is always replenished by Ms. Pham with a smile. You can immediately tell how much effort and passion goes into the preparation. This is how one envisions perfect service – highly recommended! The hotel is fortunate to have such an excellent employee as Ms. Pham.

Chose this hotel primarily for location which was good. Room was smaller than anticipated with no where to put suitcases but did the job and beds comfy and good shower. Was not intending to have breakfast there as there is a really nice Cafe Albrecht about 50 yards away which is highly rated and was very good. However on our first morning we were a bit short on time for pre-booked walking tour so we paid for hotel breakfast. Self service with one member of staff apparently on duty. Hot chocolate machine not working. Orange juice machine not working. My wife asked staff member to get the orange machine working but all she did was fill the milk machine. There was only one bowl for cereals, fruit salad, yoghurt etc.. I asked staff member to get more but was told there were none. My wife also asked her twice and was also told there were none. None came so although I had some cereal my wife had none. At the end we complained to another member of staff. She was very apologetic but still produced no bowls! We asked for a refund. I had only had one small bowl, my wife had one coffee and as we were leaving a glass of orange was put on the table. The staff member said we could have any food we wanted but I pointed out that there were still no bowls to eat from plus we had now run out of time to get on our pre-booked walking tour. I repeated my request for a refund but was told no refund was available but she offered us 2 bottles of water. In all my many travels I have never been expected to eat food without crockery! Our complaint was entirely justified and was just brushed aside. I would never stay at this hotel again and would certainly not recommend it to others.

We stayed over New Year's Eve at B&B Berlin Mitte and were very satisfied. The owner couple was super nice and accommodating and offered us a new room directly when we reported that the shower is leaking. We even got a free breakfast. You can tell that the satisfaction of the visitors is very important to them and would definitely come back.
