Grand City Hotel Globus Berlin

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. Despite our complaint, our room was not cleaned and we did not receive fresh towels.

It is very important to inform yourself before checking into this hotel. What is not transparently communicated on Booking.com is that this hotel is currently also being used as a refugee accommodation and, according to staff on site, houses around 1,200 residents. We stayed at this hotel as three regular guests and were not aware of this beforehand. From around 6 a.m. onwards, there was constant noise in the hallways: loud shouting, children screaming, banging on doors, and very loud conversations across the entire floor. Getting any rest was impossible. At around 11 a.m., I approached a hotel staff member to report the situation. She attempted to speak with a resident, who immediately became aggressive, intimidated the employee, and attempted to physically attack me. Shortly after, additional residents gathered and the situation escalated further. For our own safety, the staff member instructed us to return to our room. We were then informed that without police involvement, the hotel could not guarantee the safety of either guests or staff. As a result, we had to check out immediately and find another hotel. We were told that the accommodation costs would be refunded. I have never experienced anything like this before and am deeply shocked by how the safety of hotel guests and employees is handled here. Regardless of how the building is used, transparency during the booking process and basic safety standards should be expected.

I strongly advise against staying at Good Morning+ Berlin Ost Hotel. My wallet was stolen during an official event in the hotel’s conference room on July 1st, 2025. When I reported it, the staff offered no help - no cameras were working and I wasn’t even offered water or basic support. I had to manage everything alone. Days later the wallet was found near the elevator, but all the cash was missing. Despite knowing the theft occurred on their premises, the hotel refused to take responsibility or offer compensation. The room was poorly maintained, with no air conditioning, no fridge and questionable hygiene. The staff’s indifference and lack of professionalism made this a deeply frustrating and unsafe experience. If you value your security and dignity, avoid this hotel at all costs.
