Holiday Inn Berlin City Center East-Prenzl. Allee

We were here recently as a family for 11 days 10 nights in the junior suite and indeed this was a pleasant experience Service - Booking on the IHG app was a breeze as usual - All our requests (early check-in & sofa bed) were promptly seen to by the team through email before arrival and arranged accordingly which was a plus - Check in was a breeze and reception was always friendly and helpful - Would like to especially commend Chris & his colleagues who took care of us Location - We chose this due to proximity to an event we needed to attend nearby - As others have pointed out this is 10-15m to Alexanderplatz via M2 tram (station just outside the hotel) or you can simply walk to Prenzlauer Allee to take the S line train, plenty of buses around and no problem getting taxis or Uber - There is a convenience store, laundry directly downstairs and the neighbourhood has plenty of options within walking distance for supermarkets / grocery stores - Cafe & food choices are also great, a 5-10 m walk away if you need more choices Breakfast / Bar / Room Service - This was a highlight for us as the coffee & spread is great, food was replenished regularly, service was attentive and it was a vibrant feel, not overly crowded - Arjena did great and made us feel very comfortable - Would be even better if you have takeaway cups for tea/coffee - We had a couple of drinks at the bar which was convenient - Pity there was no room service available while we were there but a mentioned so many options & Ubereats Room / Housekeeping - Very well furnished & spacious room with all the necessary amenities you need with free minibar (drinks replenished daily) - Housekeeping prompt & clean which we liked a lot All in all a lovely & comfortable stay for us as first timers to Berlin.

This is an ideal hotel and had a great time. All the staff were very friendly. Transport links were excellent with a tram station (M2) opposite the hotel which took you straight to Alexander Platts. There is a train from the airport (S 85) direct to Prenzlauer Allee which is about 200 m from the hotel. We had a great time in Berlin and we would totally recommend it.

The attitude of the guy on reception was unacceptable. After informing the guy on reception that I had not taken breakfast, I was then told he would not remove the charge, as far as he knew, I could be lying. As a business traveller and user of IHG for 15+ years, I have never received treatment like this. After speaking to the restaurant and verifying with two other people, it was confirmed I hadn't had breakfast, and the charge was removed. Not a great experience. I won't be returning.
