It would not have been our first trip to the Maxx Hotel Sanssouci Potsdam. But this time an accident on the day of arrival unfortunately prevented it. Now, instead of being in a beautiful hotel in a historic city, we were sitting at the doctor's in an overcrowded waiting room. And now it became very clear when a hotel sees its guests as real guests. And not as paying customers. With great accommodation from the hotel, we were able to take care of our health at short notice instead of travel cancellation insurance. A very heartfelt thank you once again to the hotel and all the staff involved. Thus, not only the many previous positive experiences make this hotel highly recommendable... but also the experiences that turned out positively.

I was very disappointed with MAXX Hotel Sanssouci because I am familiar with the Steigenberger brand and have stayed at some lovely hotels. The only good thing I can say is the location is great - walking distance from town and the beautiful Sanssouci Park. The hotel itself is very dated, and our room had an overpowering smell of bleach, it was so bad we had to buy room scent to make it bearable. Although I was offered the possibility of an upgrade before checking in, when I tried to get one, I was denied. The room was overly warm and just didn’t feel clean, and the shower dripped constantly. The parking garage was tiny, it was pay-to-park, and not available on our second night. For the price of this hotel, I absolutely would not recommend it.
