Best Western Hotel St. Raphael

Ideally situated,10 minutes walk to main,Sbahn,central rail staion,5 minutes to bus station,Hamburg,s transport is cheap to use,no parking problems,and it runs mostly all night. The interior of the hotel is faultless,,staff 10/10,room service,great,clean,good tv,but limited English, We used this as a walking base for the city,then further afield,Excellent The breakfast was NOT included in our deluxe room,which was huge,with all modern ameneties. We felt the breakfast was grossly OVERPRICED,at 24 Euros each,so ate out locally,however,our last day was travelling and we pre booked it,Yes ,we had a splended choice,cold or cooked full,nothing missing here,except Black pudding.And as much as you wanted,so glad we tried it. Staff go one step further to help,as we can not speak German,patient,kind and understanding. It should be noted,the area out side ,locally is not the best to walk alone,unsavory caracters,following,people sleeping on all pavements,Gangs congregateing in,bushes along walk ways,there are lots other places in better areas,BUT far more expensive to stay,your choice,great hotel,great staff, keep in company ,day and night,we stayed in after 8.00pm.

I made a last-minute booking here for an overnight stay from Thursday, June 18, 2026, to Friday, June 19, 2026, in a suite. I relied on this without checking the booking details through the app again. There was also a mention of my BW Diamond Membership. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was informed that they could not find my booking. Only after some research did they find a booking for the period from Thursday, February 18, 2027, to Friday, February 19, 2027. However, I never made such a booking! I now have to ask myself how this incorrect booking came about, as I did not enter these dates. I was informed that the hotel was fully booked. Could the suite, which I had booked quite cheaply including breakfast, have been sold at a higher price elsewhere? The booking is also non-cancellable, and a full prepayment was made. The hotel then offered me a standard room without breakfast for €160, and they would then agree to this condition of a free cancellation. Since I did not accept this absolutely overpriced offer, the free cancellation was, of course, denied upon my request. What kind of behavior is that? The hotel sells the room again within more than six months under guarantee and thus makes a double profit! Until now, I have always enjoyed being a guest in this establishment, but after this incident, I will certainly not consider it in my travel plans anymore, especially since I only take half an hour by train to get home and booked the hotel spontaneously due to a celebration... very unfortunate, but not acceptable, this is unprofessional!

Very good hotel, well-equipped rooms, very extensive breakfast buffet, central location, close to the city and main train station and public transport, many places within walking distance. A guest for decades, sometimes through my employer and now privately.
