Junges Hotel Hamburg

I read some of the reviews a few night before staying here, thinking how bad can it be!? The hotel itself is nice, a/c does t work in the rooms. But the receptionists are so rude, it was almost a comedy sketch.

Unkindness has a name. Reception welcomed us in a tone that is second to none... "You're too early... I'm not even done checking out"... "Sorry, yeah, we know, we just wanted to put the suitcases here and we're already gone...." Yes, but quickly.... Except for one employee, all unfunny unfriendly contemporaries Renting rooms without heating ( asking three times always brought consolation.... we take care.. ) On the fourth !!!! Tag: yes, we know that: in some rooms the heating is broken.... We give them a fan heater.... (which should run unattended during the day) "Maybe we can have a second pillow"? " Unfortunately, we don't have one, but I'll give you a towel, maybe it does...." Breakfast a disaster. Actually, until 11am... but at 10:30am, the cheese and sausage was the same on the third day as on the first day, just with a dry edge. We left early. After an email and a phone call we were assured the night, as well as percentage to refund the holiday. We're still waiting for it today... All emails or calls are ignored. It just fits the picture... The place isn't working. 4 stars???? Ridiculous, a star would be exaggerated.

I have rarely had such a disappointing experience in a hotel. During my stay, I was charged an additional fee for my medical assistance dog – even though it is explicitly a certified assistance dog that is necessary for my safety in everyday life, and what I registered in advance at the time of booking and addressed and proved several times at check-in. In response to a friendly suggestion from me that this is legally problematic, the staff did not respond with insight, but with contradictory statements and an increasingly dismissive attitude. However, the tone of interaction was particularly frightening: Instead of understanding or at least professional clarification, I was repeatedly treated condescendingly. Also at check-out there was no reflection, apology or serious examination of the situation. Statement from the employee was "I don't understand drama." I was never concerned with the comparatively small amount, but with the respectful treatment and basic understanding of people with disabilities. Unfortunately, that is exactly what was missing here. I very much hope that the hotel will use this experience as an opportunity to train its employees in dealing with disabilities and anti-discrimination. For people with assistance needs I can not recommend a stay here at the moment.
