Das Kolping Hotel Frankfurt

Modern, renovated room. Nice view over the city from our room. Good location at the eastern end of Zeil and vicinity of S Bahn station. Could easily think of a revisit to this hotel.

The hotels location is close to the old town centre and river walk, about 15min away. On the outside of the hotel it states it’s 4 star rating. It is not. 3 star at best. Reception was tidy. Our double room was small, but clean, like a lot of continental Europe. There was no aircon, that made the room a bit warm at night and with the windows open quite noisy. There was a small but adequate shower. There is no tea or coffee facilities in the room. No fridge or safe either. The WiFi was unreliable and slow if and when not being thrown off the WiFi and getting the message ‘unavailable’. This is unacceptable in today’s market. Breakfast we were told was €25 per head. We did not partake. There are plenty of cafés a short walk away. Overall the hotel was in a good location for the sights. The room clean and tidy. But nowhere near a 4 star hotel standard.

Worst experience as 4 stars hotel , first from the reception, when I arrived no one in the front desk for long time , guests queing up no one concern , the room uncomfortable from the bed low , and the shower is leaking in the bathroom , lack of amenities, room is tiny , no fridge no ac , car parking very expensive , the room economy no options only king bed , stuff not welcoming . The best thing of the hotel is locations and best access for services
