Dorint Frankfurt Niederrad

We had to stay here because Lufthansa had a staff member who was racist and refused to allow us on the flight we were re booked for in Business class. The technical support for Lufthansa booked us a taxi and hotel room here at Dorint Niederrad and the hotel was really nice. The room had essentials but was clean and comfortable. We were only there for a handful of hours; from around 12:30am to 6am and the son of the owner was extremely friendly and nice. He allowed us to get coffee even though the restaurant wasn't open. He told us he just had turned on the coffee machine and its working. He personally drove us from the hotel to the airport. He was very polite, apologising for making calls. We told him it's fine, we don't mind. Very warm conversations, he was very sweet. I definitely recommend staying here. There was clearly a train station near by as the train tracks was across the street. It was in a more suburban area - houses were across the street. It was a clean area, nice and quiet.

My stay took place in September 2023. 1 night Location and hotel: Between the cemetery and the railway line. To the S-Bahn station “Niederrad”. About 10 minutes on foot. Service: Very friendly staff throughout the house. Room: My room was quietly facing the cemetery. Disadvantages of all rooms on this site: No air conditioning (in 2024!). There is only air conditioning in the rooms on the side facing the railway line (but they are extremely loud. Clean room, old-fashioned style, the condition of the furniture was clearly showing its age, there was a very distinct smell of food in the room. Possibly from exhaust air from the kitchen, etc . Breakfast: Breakfast buffet was very good, plenty of choice. Various Bread / rolls, jams / Nutella / honey, various sausages and cheeses, fruit, juices (fresh oranges to squeeze yourself. Great!). Recommended: Have a room facing the cemetery, but then you have to open the window and leave it open, otherwise you'll suffocate from the heat. Conclusion: Just because of the direct location to our office. Otherwise I wouldn't book it.

The hotel offers spacious rooms, a lovely pool and an excellent restaurant. The staff at the breakfast buffet were very attentive and met all our requests. However, the receptionists' communication is sometimes a bit rude. When we called before our arrival to ask where the best place to drop off a rental car was near the hotel, we were told that it was not the traffic department. When we asked for towels for the pool area, we were made to feel like our request was a burden. I also had to wait 15 minutes at reception in the evening to get a disposable razor, which was only given to me reluctantly after a discussion because the receptionist thought I would forget to pay for it when checking out. When I checked in for the second time, even though I had specifically asked for a room on the west side of the hotel (and had also specified this when booking), I was refused this on the grounds that all the rooms on the west side were apparently occupied. When my wife arrived about 10 minutes later and expressed the same request again, strangely enough a room 5 meters further on the west side was free and we had to move again with our suitcases, which were already in the room on the east side.
