Golden Tulip Frankfurt Offenbach

We were guests at the hotel for two nights for a family day. The hotel is easily accessible via the highway from Frankfurt, Offenbach, and also the airport. Unfortunately, the hotel is located in a rather noisy area, directly on the expressway from Offenbach to Frankfurt City. This road has four lanes and is used especially at night by car posers. In addition, there is a large gas station opposite, which functions as a motorcycle meeting point in the evening, and a large American fast-food restaurant is also in the immediate vicinity. The train line towards the main train station, used by passenger and cargo trains, is also audible all night long. Otherwise, the hotel is located in a rather unattractive corner that has nothing to offer. The location is therefore rather poor. At the reception, you are greeted by a lady who hardly speaks or understands German, cannot handle her own IT system, and bookings are not found. Only upon presentation of the written confirmation did the check-in work. There is a lounge bar on the ground floor, which we did not visit. Furthermore, this is also where you go to the hotel's own parking garage, which is narrow but offered enough space. Our rooms were on the top floors. Nice view depending on the direction. A window can be easily opened for fresh air. The room is large and bright, modernly furnished with a seating area, large TV, closet, bed, desk, etc. The showers and toilets are a disaster. These are located directly in the room and are only separated by a glass door. The shower is built in such a way that the drain is at the wrong end, and the water therefore flows more into the room. The sinks are indeed in the room, only behind a small partition wall. The faucet is controlled by a motion sensor—presumably to save money. This works only moderately well, and far too little water comes out for far too short a time. The cleanliness of the room is mediocre. Particularly alarming was the "Room Cleaning Service," which suddenly stood in the room despite the sign, while I was just in the shower. So they were then asked to leave the room, but unfortunately they do not speak German either. Breakfast is available on the first floor as a buffet. Here, one first notices that more than half of the room is cordoned off, obviously so that one does not have to clean too many tables. Given the corresponding occupancy, that is cheeky to brazen. The buffet itself is unimpressive due to its lack of imagination regarding cold cuts and the insufficient selection of rolls, bread, etc. There was one type of bake-off roll and on Sunday even baked-off croissants, though significantly fewer than there were guests. Plus boiled ham, salami, and mortadella. Overall, the hotel is not really recommended for the price.

The hotel is in the middle of industrial complex, without restaurants, shopping and public transportation. There is no reason to go there unless you work in the industrial complex. The customer service agents are terrible who repeat hotel policy without any consideration for the hotel guest. When I wrote to ask a question, DP simply repeated the hotel policy without answering my questions. Out of frustration, I cancelled the reservation before the non-refund deadline and it was cancelled. After a week, I was shocked to see the reservation re-appear in my account. When I wrote to the hotel that I have cancelled the reservation a week ago, she simply replied that the deadline has passed and it is now non-refundable and I had to pay the full hotel rate. It is only when I emailed the refundable cancellation confirmation, they acknowledged that there was an error in the system. How can the service agent blame the guest for the problems and errors they created and not checking the problem. I had similar problems with the electronic keys in the previous stay where IT and key card malfunctioned everyday. How can the hotel hire incompetent agents who repeat the hotel policy without first finding out the relevant information.

Good business hotel with large rooms. The rooms are well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the air conditioning works well. The bathroom is open to the room, which takes some getting used to. Breakfast is fine, a solid standard. Dinner is also suitable, as there are no major alternatives in the area. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The location is okay; you can get there easily by car. Very attractive pricing for the Frankfurt area.
