Gasthof Ramsauer

Very clean Hostel, functional rooms with everything you need for comfort, simple buffet Breakfast but there is something to satisfy all tastes. In addition there is a large parking lot away from the main road. In short, I recommend Very good value for money. Family welcome and sense of service are at the rendezvous

On our way from The Netherlands to Austria we stopped over again at Gasthof Ramsauer in Neufahrn because we have been there already many times and it has always been a pleasant stay. We experienced again a warm welcome by the very friendly owners. The restaurant serves tasty dishes for very reasonable prices and a good breakfast. The room was again very clean and quiet. Free Wifi is available in the room.

Stayed here for one night, so that we could transit into the Gaubodenvolksfest in nearby Straubing. The hotel was easy to find, with a sizeable car park and easy walk along the main road to a handful of shops and pharmacies. It is also immediately opposite the village train station which makes travel into Straubing (itself a lovely place) easy. The room was large, clean and comfortable and breakfast in the morning was lovely. There were a few language barriers as the couple who run the hotel have limited English however this reflects worse on us for having even more limited German! That said, they were happy to help and very friendly so managed to get by without any real problems. On needing some specific advice, they asked a younger man (their son?) to help who had fluent English. I would certainly recommend this Gasthof for anyone wanting a base in a quiet location but with great transport links to other parts of Bavaria and especially Straubing.
