We booked the Goethe Hotel for one night to get to know the city of Pyrmont. The location, 100 meters from the entrance to the spa park, is great. Unfortunately, the charm is gone. The decor is a hodgepodge of different eras, everything creaks and groans, dust collectors are placed in the hallways, and the charm that may have once existed is no longer there.
The room was clean, but we did not really feel comfortable. We also had to turn up the heating first for the room to become warm at all, which felt like it took forever, and this was despite the fact that we had a reservation and did not check in spontaneously. The balcony was not usable; it needed to be swept. For nearly €120 per night without breakfast, the price-performance ratio is not satisfactory.
