DEUTSCHES HAUS HOTEL

A wonderfully charming place, full of character and history. A hotel with character - not as boring and streamlined as modern hotels. It's great that such places still exist, and thank you to all the people who maintain it!

I spent 3 nights at the hotel. The location is very central, right next to the cathedral in downtown Braunschweig. The hotel's furnishings are good and appropriate for a 3-star establishment. The size of my room was pleasant (double room for single use). The interior bathroom does not have a window due to the structural conditions. Liquid soap is available at the sink and in the shower. There are also cosmetic tissues, a cosmetic mirror, and a hairdryer. The towels are of good quality. The mattress was good, but the pillow was personally too bulky and large for me. There is enough storage space for luggage. Unfortunately, there was carpet flooring in the room. Laminate would have been more comfortable for me. (However, the rooms are being renovated gradually.) The breakfast is plentiful; every guest can find something to their taste (e.g., salmon, cheese, cold cuts, salads, fruit, vegetables, muesli, oat milk, jam, yogurt, eggs, sausages, bacon, etc.). Coffee is available in thermos containers, which can be taken to the table. I did not particularly enjoy the coffee. Various types of tea are available. The excellent cleanliness throughout the entire establishment is noteworthy! I have not stayed in such a clean establishment for a long time! The staff is very friendly. The only point of criticism from my side: Upon check-in, I was asked if I wanted room service. I denied this (not necessary for a 3-night stay in my opinion) and marked it accordingly on the registration form. After the first night. The room service spoke to me on my way to breakfast, asking if I needed room service. After the second night. Room service was in my room and had the window wide open for ventilation while I was having breakfast. - I do not want to diminish the work and effort of the staff; they truly do excellent work! However, the guest's wishes should be respected, especially when the request is explicitly asked at check-in. Wi-Fi worked well. Overall, I felt comfortable in the hotel and would book here again.

A lovely hotel! The decor I would describe as home-style, but there is something very impressive about the building with its huge staircase, the knight's armor, the extremely high ceilings. The view from the high window is beautiful. I could see the cathedral and the lion statue. Great. The location is fantastic! A parking space right outside the door (unfortunately you can't reserve it, but we were lucky!). The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was rich and there was plenty of choice. I am very satisfied and would stay there again.
