Congress Am Stadtpark

My colleague and I had the misfortune of dealing with Congress Hotel Stadtpark. This establishment has unreasonably strict and highly inconvenient cancellation policy of 30 days in advance. For a business hotel it’s unacceptable and completely out of touch with corporate customers. Plans may change and you are stuck with booking you can only cancel at a 90% loss. Staff is very unhelpful over the phone and treats clients like a reservation number, not like individuals who need their issue resolved. We are under the impression that we are dealing with AI robots rather than humans working in hospitality. No goodwill, no willingness or desire to work with customers or to accommodate their request. Despite the fact that hotel is sold out for our dates and room can be resold to another guest. We are appealing directly to hotel’s proprietor Jorg Walter Koch and General Manager Cord Kelle. You both are respected members of Hannover’s hospitality community, with focus on supporting trade fair stakeholders. Please, do the right thing and cancel our reservation without penalty. For perspective guests and travel agents, buyer beware!

We booked the hotel for one night as I had an appointment right in the Niedersachsenhalle. The staff is very friendly. When we entered the room it was really cold and it really took time for the room to warm up slowly. In the hotel room you will find nice little things in the bathroom, such as shoe sponges, nail arrows, body lotion, ... Just as you have a minibar, which does not work for environmentally friendly reasons, which is why you can order drinks in your room for free. In the bathroom unfortunately the light flickered when turning on and you first have to cross a step to get into the bathroom. The bathroom unfortunately only had a bathtub. The next day was also an event called “Kicking with Stars”. The parking spaces are unfortunately really tight, which is why you can't even open the door of a large car if two cars are next to you. So I had to take two parking spaces.

It was a hotel we stayed for a business trip. The staff speaks English. The rooms are small yet comfortable. The temperature was good. The breakfast is adequate. The lobby bar is good for drinks and conversation in the evenings. Wifi available and fast. Parking is available. If I go to Hannover again for work, it’s a hotel I’d go for.
