Altstadt Hotel zur Post Stralsund

Near the new square is this hotel. Large room, slightly worn but clean and tidy. Very large and comfortable double bed. Bathroom with shower in bath, soap / shampoo in container on wall. Shaving mirror, but no special bathroom. Ok wifi. Breakfast included and ok. The staff spoke English at the front desk. Expensive parking in the hotel garage (12 € / night) Tip: Park on the square next door for free after 4 pm. Add 1 € and the parking will be valid until 9 the next day!

The hotel is within walking distance of the main train station and right off Market Square. We could walk to everything we wanted to see. It's not a fancy place but it is clean, has necessary amenities (like a hair dryer), and an elevator. The staff is helpful and the rates are very reasonable. My only complaint was the 12 euro charge if you wanted breakfast.Needless to say, we went elsewhere to eat.

Was not staying at this hotel and accidentally parked in their garage for ten minutes and was charged 3 €!! Parking charges are double of standard in town. They charge 12€ A day, while parking house 300 m away charge only 6€ I shall never set foot in that hotel again!
