This hotel has sadly lost the quality it once had. It used to feel welcoming, with excellent service and a comfortable atmosphere, but that is no longer the case.
The removal of the reception desk has made the experience feel impersonal, and relying on self-service check-in takes away the hospitality you expect from a hotel. When I arrived to check in, there were three male employees standing nearby, but none of them acknowledged me or offered any assistance. I had to ask for help before someone finally came over to assist.
The hotel now feels more like an Ibis than a Mercure. The difference is that an Ibis doesn't charge €160 per night without breakfast. For that price, I expected a much higher standard of service and a proper hotel reception.
Overall, the hotel falls well below the standard I would expect from a Mercure. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay here again.
