For a short trip (5 nights) to Cologne to visit several events over a long weekend we had chosen this hotel, where at first glance we were fine with price/performance as well as the location for reaching the events. Since me and my girlfriend are not a big breakfast eater, usually a yogurt or a croissant is enough we have booked our double room without breakfast, because here the price for buffet is disproportionately expensive. Nearby we had also discovered a café, which for us had the better breakfast offer in terms of quantity and price. Otherwise, there is also a REWE nearby if you want to buy yourself bread and jam. The room was mostly clean. There were some dust residues on one shelf or the other. The kitchen we had not used much except for the fridge but were kindly advised at check-in if we should cook but open the window. The smoke detector is almost directly above the stove and has often led to unwanted alarm messages. Unfortunately, the room temperature was not optimal. Although already on the ECU was set to the maximum minus, it was much too warm so that you often slept at night rather without a blanket. Presumably here the central heating was simply set too warm or otherwise a defect on the control unit. Was probably still set for Cold Winter and not for Warm Spring The staff at the reception gave us a warm welcome on arrival and the check-in on site , as well as the check-out, went without any problems. Payment for the room was requested at check-in and was only possible by card.

The gym is a joke, one tiny rack of women's weights, no machines, benches, chairs, or mats. Nothing useful for a guy to work out. I was there a month and ir irked me they advertise a fitness center.

During my stay from February 21 to 23, the experience was deeply disappointing and unpleasant. First of all, they tried to charge me twice for the room. Although the payment was already made and correctly reflected in my account, the staff did not recognize it and forced me to call my bank personally to prove something that was evident. Far from assuming the mistake or apologizing, they shifted the responsibility to the client, creating an uncomfortable and unnecessary situation. The second incident was even more disproportionate. Cleaning a pan with butter scraps in the kitchen produced a small smoke, something punctual and without any real risk. However, the reaction was absolutely exaggerated: activation of the fire alarm, complete eviction from the hotel and the arrival of three fire engines, as if it were a serious emergency. Most worryingly, I was subsequently required to pay EUR 500 for the intervention, under pressure and with veiled threats, without any real possibility of dialogue or objective assessment of what happened. I consider it totally disproportionate to charge that amount to the customer for a minimal incident, especially when the detection system seems to lack reasonable margin in normal domestic situations. At no time did I receive empathetic, conciliatory or professional treatment. Quite the contrary, the feeling was intimidation and an absolute lack of will to resolve the conflict justly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property. Incident management and customer service leave much to be desired and create great uncertainty when staying there.
