Hotel Gertrudenhof

Very central small bed and breakfast in Rodenkirchen, typical of German traditions with approx 22 rooms. There is a lift to all floors. One problem to be aware of, all rooms have a bath with shower attachment but very hard for elderly folk like ourselves to climb into. The bed was comfortable and were kept clean, towels changed regularly. Breakfast was of traditional German Fayre, plenty of good wholesome bread, cheeses and hams plus cereals etc. Hot food was limited in our view but we enjoyed the other options, with good tasty coffee.

The hotelier is not very customer-oriented, seems unfriendly, angry and cheeky. Breakfast was ok, but nothing more, view see photo. I'm not going there anymore.

Just in a suburb of Köln in Roden kitchen this nice hotel is situated. The staff is very friendly and helpful in arranging a place for my bicycle. The breakfast was basic but okay. My one person room had an unannounced bath to my surprise. Only 6 km from city center Köln
