Hotel Imperial

Nice owner-managed hotel. I was accommodated in a quite rustic attic room, small, but very quiet. Totally okay, the rooms further down are certainly larger. Very nice staff. University accessibility by bus is very good.

The hotel was always one of the nicest private hotels in Cologne. Great! Until recently, despite the somewhat old-fashioned decor, I was very happy to recommend it! Currently I can not recommend it anymore! You can not find a single parking space as a customer from 17-22h and depending on the room location you have noise every evening in front of the hotel! The reason: the long-time hotel owner has rented the adjacent Cafe IMPI to an "InstaHotspot". The formerly nice bar, where neighbors and students met for drinks and snacks for years, has now become a HotSpot location where 70% of the "ShishaBar and Poser Audience" operates. Guests who have often travelled from the surrounding area park their prolific cars in the 2nd row directly in front of the hotel & park all fire brigade access roads. Guests also have no inhibitions about leaving the MachaDoss & remaining garbage on Barthelstrasse. Of course, not all guests are like this but the majority! The InstaPoster and tenant attracts more and more people, so huge lines are created. She is clever & spreads that she cooperates with the law enforcement office (this has to come almost every evening) and she has been in the Veedel for 30 years, which is only true for the hotel but not for this InstaHotSpot! And despite the law enforcement, almost nothing changes! Mr. Müller, the owner of the Imperial Hotel, should look for another tenant in the medium or long term so that peace is restored in the neighborhood. The IMPI itself is a great location but the Insta HotSpot belongs in my opinion in the city or to Cologne Mülheim etc.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The hotel front desk closes at 12 a.m. After this time, you must enter the hotel through the shuttle gate. There are no safety boxes in the room. The room is dark, the furnishings are very old, and the bathroom doesn’t have enough bouquets. You must order the shampoo and shower gel in the same bottle and at the front desk each morning. You're not getting paid back.
