Residenz Hotel Eurostar

This is a very basic hotel located about 15 minutes by tram 701. Tram Holt is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. There is only 1 person working there in the reception and at the same time serving breakfast. Reception is closed in the night. Rooms are very small and with basic facilities. No free water bottles. I heard there 2 supermarkets near the hotel. The tram 701 is bit confusing since it’s running in a circle. It’s possible to go to the city center from the halt near the hotel. But it’s necessary to get down one halt before (about 300 meters walk) because it’s the last stop of the train. The hotel is value for money if you get it less than 50$ for 2 persons per night.

It was very clean, that is its strenght. The hotel is quite old and faces a big crossway in a crowded street, so if You open the window it will be very noisy, if You don't, you will be very hot and will not be able to sleep. I believe in the winter it is better. The should invest in some ac either way.

This is a no-frills hotel, but I like it and everything was as I needed it. My room was on the 4th floor, with a view to the courtyard which is shared by a couple of residential buildings, this hotel, and a small commercial unit (no noise, though). The location was alright. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. You walk about 5-10 minutes to the tram, and in 15 minutes you can walk to Bilk S-Bahn. From there, you have a direct connection to the airport terminal with the S11. And there is a mall next to the S-Bahn stop too. Please note that the reception is not open 24/7, so some planning is required. Also, the elevator closed down when the reception was closed, so if this is an issue for you, then maybe this is not the place for you. But I was satisfied. There is a small fridge and an electric kettle. So I didn't try the hotel breakfast but got my own breakfast instead. There's a supermarket just around the corner, and the lady at the reception explained me how to get there. The mattress and bedding was good, in fact, the mattress was even better than at home. Who knows, maybe I'll be back if I need a hotel in Düsseldorf again.
