ART HOTEL MONOPOL

We were with friends in Gelsenkirchen to attend an event in the Schalke Arena. The Hotel Monopol is very friendly and tastefully decorated. The rooms are very nice and clean, the staff is extremely friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is top, the tram is in the immediate vicinity and also numerous restaurants or snack bars are within walking distance. Next time we will come back!

Very friendly staff, garage places are available but must be booked to do so. Rooms are bright modern and clean ! Everything you need is there ! The hotel is very central. 5 min from the pedestrian zone of Gelsenkirchen Buer! Bus station also directly opposite! We had non-smoking rooms and had. Towards the courtyard the rooms , so we didn't hear about traffic ! The breakfast room very spacious and modern! Breakfast is ok. Nothing special and bread and rolls nothing special! But it was also everything there that wants for breakfast! Unfortunately much in one go packaging ! A little lovelessly done!

Despite all the negative reviews I have to say that this hotel is not so bad. I had a room in an annex and this room was very spacious with a good usable desk, only the chair was a little too low or the desk too high, a good bathroom. Along with another room I shared a small kitchen that was fully equipped. Unfortunately, there was no coffee. Again very soft pillows. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and a lady who took care of the coffee and other things. Even a piece of fruit for later in the day were both at the breakfast buffet and at the reception. The location of the hotel is close to the center of Gelsenkirchen. This is pleasant as the hotel does not have a restaurant. A stay worth repeating.
