Hotel Rosenmeer

We first had room 12 on the ground floor with sagging mattresses, a torn pleated blind, and the air conditioning kept malfunctioning and was in alarm mode. The sink was right by the room door. The toilet and shower were in separate small boxes with a glass door (approx. 70cm wide). The next day we wanted to speak to the hotel manager, but that was not possible because only temporary staff look after the hotel. The temporary staff member was very accommodating and gave us another room on the semi-basement level. That was very nice and modern with good mattresses and a spacious bathroom. The breakfast was extensive and good.

I had booked two rooms for two nights. The hotel sent an email a day before arrival saying that due to the city festival in MG the reception was not manned and we should please take the keys from a key safe. Okay, that could have been communicated earlier. As is the fact that the restaurant and bar are also closed. So there was no breakfast, food or drink you couldn't have anything. In the hotel there was no one, reception was unoccupied and the front door of the house was open day and night. The room in the 2. Stock was hot and stuffy, because the air conditioning (38 degrees outside temperature) did not work. A bottle of water was sought in vain. There was also no lamp working except for the ceiling lamp above the room door; my email regarding this was not answered. The maids always fixed the lamps for the second night. Overall, the rooms could use a renovation. What went, however, is to call us through the houesekeeping on the day of departure at 11:30 in the room and inform us that the room should be vacated in 30 minutes. The beds were ok - therefore no insufficient

The highlight of our stay at the Hotel Rosenmeer was breakfast. There is only a small buffet with cereal, sweet spreads and juice, otherwise a breakfast on a tierre and freshly prepared egg dishes of your choice. The scrambled eggs were really excellent and one of the best we ever got in a hotel. The other ingredients were also of good quality and the choice and amount of sausage, cheese, salmon, etc. on the Etagere was more than sufficient. You can get quite good filter coffee, but also other things, such as latte macchiato etc. a la carde and not from the self-service machine. We had gotten a room upgrade to a suite as we had noticed when we got there. This was in the 2. Upstairs under the roof and more like a holiday apartment with kitchen, utility room with washer and dryer, living and dining room and bedroom. The decor has partly made a somewhat lumped together impression. In the bedroom was a completely senseless couch, which was not usable as it was completely covered with huge pillows. I don't know what that was about! The suite apparently hasn't been used for some time. It was unfortunately not so clean and you could have ventilated before or turned on the air conditioning. The days before it was very warm and when we arrived the air in the rooms under the roof was very stuffy and warm. The air conditioning took virtually all night to reach a reasonably pleasant temperature. If you are not so good on foot, beware when booking the rooms - there is no elevator in the house! 2 of the suites are on the second floor. It should be emphasized positively that we were helped to carry the suitcases. On the other hand, some of the rooms are located in the basement.
