Hotel Europa

Hello, we stayed with five adults and two children for one night there. We booked two double rooms and one apartment. The rooms were very clean and tidy. In the morning, we had breakfast at the hotel, and there was plenty of everything that was offered. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we could not embark on our trip (1 overnight stay) due to a death in the family. We explained the situation to the hotel and presented a death certificate, hoping that a goodwill solution would be possible in this exceptional case. However, the hotel repeatedly and categorically denied a refund. One of the reasons given was that a rate with cancellation options could have been chosen at the time of booking. We are aware that the booked rate was generally non-refundable. Nevertheless, we would have expected a bit more compassion and accommodation in the case of a proven death. It was disappointing for us to experience that no goodwill was granted even under these circumstances. We would particularly like to highlight CHECK24 positively. After the hotel rejected every goodwill solution, CHECK24 took over the cancellation costs out of their own goodwill, thus finding a very humane and customer-oriented solution. The hotel's decision may comply with the contractual conditions. However, the handling of such an exceptional situation left us with a very negative impression.

We wanted to spend a weekend in Münster and therefore booked this hotel for one night. Unfortunately, during the booking via the hotel's homepage, the arrival has been changed to the current day date. We only noticed this the next day when we received a cancellation bill for 90 percent of the room rate. When first contacted by telephone, the facts were still warmly received. We should check in with the managing director the next morning, who would decide. Unfortunately, we were not put through to him in this phone call. This was done by pointing out that he had checked this and that we would not have to expect any discount when rebooking for the right date. We could write an e-mail, but it would have no chance of success. Also the hint that the booking was made late Monday afternoon and at this (for us unfortunately wrong) time there were still many rooms available, completely fizzled out. We certainly did not expect a complete waiver of the invoice, but with regard to the upcoming new booking at least a certain accommodation. The bill was settled by us immediately today. However, with such business conduct, we can only advise against booking this hotel. This will not be visited by us or our friends and acquaintances in the future.
