Waldhotel Nachtigall

Stayed at this lovely hotel in Sept 2025. Lovely room with large comfy bed and gorgeous shower 🚿. Has easy parking and great surroundings. Staff so helpful and spoke English to help us. Would highly recommend, thank you all at the hotel for our marvellous stay.

Our one-night stay was very enjoyable. We received a friendly welcome at reception, with rooms all ready. We had driven directly from London (UK) to Paderborn and the hotel's free, off-road car park was a welcome site, and located just metres from the entrance. No searching for car parking! The hotel's public areas were well decorated, clean and spacious and our rooms were comfortable with all the usual facilities. We didn't have dinner at the hotel. Our time in Paderborn was limited, so wanted to explore the city centre and dine there. Personally, I had not visited Paderborn for many, many years and was pleasantly surprised that it it hadn't changed too much. The hotel is a 15-minute cab ride from the hotel - couldn't face anymore driving - and it cost a reasonable 17 euros (for a party of three). Breakfast was great. Varied with a choice of hot and cold food and drink. All-in-all, the Waldhotel Nachtigall offers friendly and welcoming accommodation, as well as great value for money. We hope to return to Paderborn and, upon doing so, would have no hesitation in choosing this hotel.

I have booked the hotel several times for a small group's retreat. Clean rooms, good value for money, more or less smooth pre-organization. Accommodation/food/room furnishings were all OK. Booked conference meals etc. were inexpensive, including in price. Unfortunately, there were a few problems this time. No direct billing on site possible, no splitting of the bill between the participants, incorrect verbal statement of the price (despite explicit request) and no attempt to find a common solution in subsequent communication. I see this as extremely unprofessional and unfortunately will have to forego working with them in the future. It's a real shame.
