The hotel is superbly located and has very large rooms. The decor is a little old fashioned, but everything great. Only the bathroom could be renovated a bit, shower curtains are really out. Breakfast is bombastic and the staff very friendly.

We found very large, luxurious rooms with plenty of space. However, those who like me got a sun-exposed side against the old town quickly realized that there is no air conditioning and you can hardly bring the temperature down. The installed fan only distributes the air without cooling. Because two bridges (as well as direct access to Brühl's terrace) are closed as a result of construction work, there is intensive through traffic in front of the hotel including all emergency vehicles, which becomes correspondingly loud. The pillows proved to be of miserable, cheap quality. At dinner we were disturbed by the very long waiting times for drinks and food. We had to sign up for a time, but the hotel kept us waiting over half an hour for Service. That's not how it works. The super-fine mushroom kin reconciled us a bit again, as did the tender beef roulade with dumplings and fine red cabbage. The chocolate cake with its liquid contents and fruits was also met with much recognition. I tried especially a local wine from Meissen; soso-lala, certainly nothing more. Very bad: you could only pay cash, which got some of us into trouble, especially since bottled wines have been consumed. Where else can there be in 2025 – except in alpine huts without Wi-Fi? I haven’t experienced breakfast in this price range without baked bacon for decades: I was extremely frustrated. The bread offered (cut) was very dry and hard. I can eat stale bread cheaper at home.
