Gasthaus Falkenhain

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it! The good news first: It is a very beautiful region and perfectly suited for staying and vacationing. The price/performance ratio of this accommodation is not in proportion to the condition of the rooms; these appear - as far as I could tell - old-fashioned, worn out, and are in urgent need of renovation/modernization. The bill must be paid in advance, including the tourist tax of course - there is no receipt or invoice for either one - therefore you cannot use a guest card because you simply do not get one. (shame on anyone who thinks ill of this) Use of a debit card only possible if you pay the fees for it yourself? The operator is apparently trying to provide service - however, the expectation of being separately compensated for this is also in the foreground. Let it be said to the operator: you have to feed a cow that you milk occasionally. The statements made here by me represent my own personal opinion and perceptions. (of course, every person has a different perception) Conclusion: I was here for the second time, so to speak; namely the first and the last time.

We had booked four nights through booking.com and were urged by the hosts during a phone call to cancel at booking.com and book directly with them. Which unfortunately we did. We had requested an invoice for the days and got a ticket only with amount, company stamp and signature without date tax number etc. Breakfast was one-sided. Every day only white rolls with topping. When we asked for the Wi-Fi password we were unkindly instructed not to download anything illegal and had to sign for us to use this. My two children were quite afraid of this host couple, as the hostess intercepted the children alone to point out again unkindly nothing illegal to do with their wifi. The rooms were quite stale and quite dusty. On the table in the room there was half a painkiller from a guest in front of us on an upside-down water glass. Never again. We travel often and we have never experienced anything like this. This was the worst accommodation ever.
