Hotel Heidenschanze

My Mother and I had reservations for this hotel in May of 2023. The hotel had the look and feel of a motorcycle gang hotel. The only customers appeared to be middle age men. My Mother is 79 years old - not a single man standing there helped her get her suitcase in the stairs. They were not required to help her, of course, but they didn't offer, which was strange. There were vending machines when you enter - they had beer. It just gave very sinister vibes at the end of a deserted street in Dresden. We stayed there for 10 minutes - and then returned the keys and found another hotel. It was just potentially too strange for us.

blocked, access prohibited, all roads closed to the hotel entrance .. paid for the hotel without access. no telephone response, no alternative contact options .. we had booked extra room at other hotel after 3 hours in vain looking for help ...

This place is purely functional, but in a very very silent neighborhood just on the outside of Dresden (12 mins to the old city center). Nobody at the reception desk, gives you a weird feeling. Our room was stinking: smoke and no fresh air. Expect nothing more than a bed with a thin synthetic duvet, a table, chair. In the bathroom with a normal shower, there's a hairdryer but nothing more. We didn't take the breakfast. In front of the hotel there's a 'Partyraum', but you don't hear the noises from the party at all. It was actually quite depressing to be there, even more because we paid 118 euros for 2 nights... too much for this, but when all the other hotels are full, you don't have the choice.
