RADISSON BLU PARK

The Radisson in Radebeul no longer meets the standard of a Radisson hotel. This starts with very worn-out rooms with partially broken furniture and ends with the competence of the staff at the reception and partly in the restaurant. When checking in, I asked again about options to get pool admission for more than just a one-time entry. They sent me to the swimming pool to clarify. From there, they referred me back to the reception because there is currently a staff shortage and the manager is on vacation. At the reception, they informed me that the person in charge had just finished her training??? For one thing, I find it sad that I did not receive competent support here and that they did not understand that I am not willing to pay 3x15 euros if we want to go swimming 3 times with a child. It is also interesting that children up to 5 travel for free at the hotel, but have to pay at the swimming pool from age 5. When checking out, the bill seemed strange to me and I wanted it explained. (there was also an error on it) In response, I received an info invoice with the full address of a company in Brussels... Data protection? Ever heard of it? Unfortunately, in the restaurant, we also got the colleague who had little desire to provide friendly service. All in all, we have visited this hotel for the last time! Too bad

We had booked two double rooms for a total of four people and were unfortunately very disappointed with our stay. There was an unpleasant surprise right at check-in: We were informed that the booking had supposedly only been made for two people in two double rooms. In order for the four of us to be able to stay in the booked double rooms, we were expected to pay 25 € per additional person per night. This resulted in additional costs of 100 € in total for two nights. It was all the more curious for us that upon our arrival, both double rooms were already fully prepared for two people each – including beds made up accordingly. Unfortunately, this did not make the justification for the additional costs any more understandable to us. Even more disappointing, however, was the condition of the rooms. The furnishings not only exuded the charm of the 90s, but were unfortunately also in a correspondingly worn-out condition. The walls were clearly scuffed from moving the furniture, and the floor and curtains were dirty and stained. In the bathroom, tiles were coming off the wall and parts of the shower partition and glass panels were damaged. Furthermore, the room was very dusty overall and did not make a thoroughly cleaned impression. However, the way our complaint was handled was particularly disappointing for us. We pointed out the shortcomings at the reception and even presented a tile that had fallen off. The reaction to this was largely limited to a shrug and an offer to change rooms around 11 p.m. We declined this offer. At that time, we were tired, had already unpacked completely, and had a full schedule planned for the next day. Since we were leaving the following morning around 9 a.m., a complete room change in the middle of the night no longer seemed sensible to us. What ultimately disappointed us the most was the attitude of the staff at check-in and at the reception. Neither the lady nor the gentleman showed any interest in finding an appropriate or accommodating solution with us. Instead, the following was said in essence or verbatim: "That is not our problem." In our view, such treatment of guests who address legitimate and obviously understandable shortcomings is unacceptable. We were also left with a particularly unpleasant feeling that we might have been treated differently as two male couples. Whether this actually played a role, we cannot and do not want to judge. We expressly hope that this was not the case. Due to the way we and our complaint were handled, however, this impression unfortunately remained with us. Overall, the stay did not meet our expectations, neither in terms of the condition and cleanliness of the rooms nor in terms of how our complaint was handled. The combination of additional costs, significant shortcomings, and a lack of willingness to find a customer-oriented solution has left us with an extremely negative impression.

The hotel advertises a pool and a games room, which made it seem like a great choice. The pool itself was very nice, but nowhere was it made clear that you have to pay an additional €5 per person every single time you want to use it. That should be stated much more clearly. The biggest disappointment was the service. This is clearly a conference hotel, and regular guests definitely do not seem to be a priority. There were drink stations around the hotel with water, glasses, tea, and coffee. When we went to get a cup of tea, we were told to leave because it was only for conference guests. That was both embarrassing and unwelcoming. At another drink station, there were no clean glasses available at all. Our stay did not get off to a good start either, as the staff could not even find our reservation when we checked in. The hotel bar was only open for two of the five days we stayed, which was very disappointing. To make matters worse, the electric kettle in our room broke the first time we tried to boil water. Overall, the facilities looked better on paper than they were in reality. Between the unexpected extra charges, poor service, limited amenities, and maintenance issues, this hotel did not live up to our expectations. We would not choose to stay here again.
