Fuerstenhof Leipzig Hotel

OMG, what a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Leipzig! It feels like stepping back in time, but with a stylish and elegant design. The Femina Bar is absolutely stunning, you have to try the cocktails here. The Espresso Martini and the classic Margarita are both spot on. I could happily sit here sipping cocktails all night. The reception staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Highly recommended! 👌

We visited the hotel in early April and were disappointed. The hotel is renovated and makes a noble impression that has already passed 10 minutes after arrival. The underground car park is only accessible via a secondary road. That's basically no problem, but that you then have to drag the suitcases over 2 steep stairs yourself to the hotel, we could have been told at check in. Probably one assumes that most guests only travel with Doggy Bag and so do not miss the luggage service. It is now clear to us why parking the car incurs such costs, because the staff themselves do not feel like this effort. The rooms are nicely renovated if you like open shelves and only ambient lighting. Modern lighting concepts are certainly different. You can't read a newspaper or a book like that. The bathroom is spacious if you have everything else yourself. Shaving mirrors, etc. are not sought. There is nothing but towels, hairdryer and water. Spartan is probably called that, we thought it needed improvement. There is no fridge or minibar, but you can buy your water or beer from the vending machine on the floor in the hallway as well as in the dormitory. Even the plush carpet or great pictures are useless, it is not a level that fits together. I do not book in a luxury hotel , to be welcomed with the charm of a campsite. Breakfast: The room has the charm of a company canteen and is also managed this way. The few staff take some getting used to, I was put back the orange juice bottle I had taken out to fill to take a glass from under my nose. According to the motto “Stupid she’s standing there” , my wife was advised to take the paper from the neighbouring cabin when visiting the dirty ladies’ toilet. Bottles of mineral water that guests had placed themselves on the table and in which there were still contents were put back on the counter. We then always chose new unlocked ones. We were a bit speechless about the lady's overreaching behavior in the breakfast room. The breakfast offer is basically mid-range and when the man at the roaster for the fresh egg dishes still watches without gloves as he sorts the sausage plates and cuts the bread, the impression is complete. The craftsman still working in the house in work clothes with the guests at the coffee machine pull their café, rounds off the feeling that you are somehow in the wrong hotel. We shared our observations at checkout with the staff, as expected there was no reaction, except the suggestion that you wanted to improve. We will visit Leipzig again, this hotel certainly not anymore.
