Hotel Markgraf Leipzig

Much more style than substance. Liked - The location is good if you want to look at the southern part of the city and then walk comfortably into the old town. Did not like - Hotel is unfortunately massively more style than substance! The photos are deceptive. The facade is stuck in the early 90s. Does not look appealing. The breakfast buffet does not exist like that!! In general, it is incomprehensible in the hotel where the "environmental gold status" would come from! (was perhaps once the case 20 years ago) Reception - Receptionist is only there until exactly 8:00 PM. That is not stated as a warning on the hotel portal page. You then get keys in a key box on the outside of the building. Grand promises - We did not find/receive any free welcome drinks and snacks and also no vending machine! " "Coffee specialties" are advertised. They are available at the reception for €3.50 from the standard cappuccino machine. Room - We received a room upgrade. In the room, however, the curtain was hanging crooked, almost falling down, and there was a large stain on the carpet and chair. Hole in the other chair. Shower door - edge moldy and germ-ridden. Breakfast - The buffet and the room look perfect in the photos. In reality, there is breakfast chaos! A confusing buffet concept like I've never seen before. Guests run around a 4-sided black wall unit and desperately look for something. On one side is a narrow refrigerator where everyone has to hold the hinged door open and reach with their other hand for little jars of mini-portions of yogurt, tomatoes, etc. Cheese and sausage on the very bottom. Service staff run around behind you. You can fry your own eggs. In the way of the door to the kitchen. Lines form. Everything is very disappointing.

Very nice reception , perfect environment ,local and bars around the corner , rooms clean , beds very good ! I

Hotel has come of age and would need to be renovated. Dirty carpet with stains, mold in the shower. Beds are through. Staff friendly. Price performance okay. Breakfast also fine. For 1-2 nights okay.
