Mercure Hotel Halle Leipzig

Very good hotel, very helpful receptionists (Krishna and Jenny). Nice smoking area outside. Great breakfast, good parking.

I have been a guest of the hotel on several occasions throughout the years. The reason I have chosen the hotel for my recent trip was the memory of good service. Unfortunately, my memory did not completely match the reality. Positive: they allow pets which was wonderful for us given the fact that we were traveling with our German shepherd. Negative: the information provided related to the pet tariff was not correct. We were informed it was 5 euros per night and we ended up being charged 10 euros per night. The invoice was not prepared according to instructions. The quality of the invoice printed was not something I would offer my clients, had I been in their position. The toner smudged all over the paper, no envelope was provided. I was not even asked whether I would like an envelope for the invoice. One socket was damaged. We thought the kettle was damaged, but, we figured out it was just the socket. I found the price for the breakfast offered quite steep. I know the offer and to charge 17 euros per person is not something I would pay. The last impression is a lasting impression. I remember only being handed over a poor quality printed invoice and that is it. Would I go back there? Only if I am travelling with the dog because Germany, although they pride themselves in being pet friendly, should be more opened to people travelling with a dog.

We stayed one night on our way to Austria. While it is near the highway, no noise is heard. It has free parking. Beautiful and the outdoor areas. The room was clean, functional and with all the necessary. Breakfast was buffet and it was good. Good staff, too.
