Hotel Excelsior in Lubeck

We stayed one night to visit the city of Lübeck. The hotel is located next to the train station and 10 minutes from the city center. We managed to park for free on a street close to the hotel. The hotel respected our benefits related to our status: upgrade, drink voucher, and small attention. The hotel is not the most modern, but the rooms are clean. The wifi worked well as did the air conditioning. If needed, the hotel lends umbrellas which is very convenient.

Mercure Hotel Luebeck City Center is very conveniently located: just a 2 minutes walk from the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof), and a 5 minutes walfing from the Holstentor and the old city, so perfect for a visit. I was at Mercure Hotel Luebeck City Center for three nights, and it was a great stay! My room was big, with a comfortable bed. It was very quiet, and the insulation from outside noise was very good. Everything worked perfect. Free wi-fi was very good. The bathroom was also very good, even if smallish. Breakfast was excellent, and staff were helpful. A truly great stay!

Stay here: March 2026, 1 night Location and hotel: Located in the immediate vicinity of the main train station, across the road and the ZOB about 3 min walk. Service: Little staff seen in the house. Hardly any contact, but he's friendly. Rooms: Originally old house, also on the stairs up/down, very winding. Not suitable for disabled people My room was quiet to the back in the 2nd floor. Stock. Rooms to the front could be noisier due to the ZOB buses leaving directly there. Clean room, the condition of the furniture was ok. Comfortable bed. Entry shower in the bathroom very high, see pictures. The dirty curtain must stand out when cleaning! Breakfast: Breakfast buffet was very good, abundant choice. Div. Bread / rolls, jams / Nutella / honey, div. Sausages – and cheeses, salmon, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, juices. Breakfast on weekends only from 7:00, if you have to leave early is suboptimal. Conclusion: For the price a very good offer with very good breakfast.
