Hotel Kaiserhof

The person at the reception on the day was very rude, tired hotel, had to walk the stairs when the service used the only elevator all the time. Very disappointed, they informed about free parking so on arrival they said it was full, then they informed that they had changed the rules and now you had to book in advance and pay. There are many better hotels in Lübeck

First, the positive: The room was spacious and the hotel relatively central. Although you could check in from 2:30 PM ! according to the website, the room was not ready for occupancy until 4:00 PM. To make matters worse, the toilet paper ran out in the middle of the night, with no spare roll available. Something like this has never happened to me before. The hotel itself is showing its age. The shower is hard to get into and slippery with a disgusting shower curtain. A step between the bathroom and bedroom easily becomes a tripping hazard. The old carpet is stained. Is a spray bottle in the room supposed to tell me that I should rather clean here myself? Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel at all.

We stayed in a family room, which was in fact a suite. A hallway, two spacious bedrooms, one inside the other, a large bathroom and a smaller extra toilet. Some clumsy furniture (typical of Germany). Giant desks in both bedrooms, almost equal dressing tables with heavy stools, one in one bedroom and one in the hallway. Would have been better to skip at least one of the desks and set up a couple of armchairs and a smaller table to sit and play games etc. A refrigerator was provided, but was not plugged in. Too bad! We didn't test the Jacuzzi in the master bathroom. Everything else worked fine. Since we were in Lübeck during a heat wave, we missed AC, but other times of the year than high summer it will not be a problem. Normal hotel breakfast optional. Very friendly and helpful staff both at the reception and the breakfast room!
