Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel. The building is historic and therefore very old. That alone would not be a point of criticism for us. However, what greatly affected our stay was the intense smell in the hallways. It smelled strongly of urine, which was extremely unpleasant and negatively impacted the impression of the entire hotel. The smell was so intense that we could only sleep with the window open. Overall, we unfortunately did not feel comfortable because of this. From our perspective, there is an urgent need for action here. Therefore, we would not recommend the hotel.

I knew the moment we opened the front door I had made a mistake. The smell of this hotel was pungent. Not just old, but old, musty, and downright putrid. Old style, lacked nice furnishings. Did I mention horrible air quality? Allergies went wild. Clothes stink from this hotel. Breakfast was ok, though. That’s why I didn’t give the lowest rating. Also note, front desk is not manned 24 hours. Must check in by 8p. Metal key to open and lock your room door (and the front door if you come and go) after 8pm.

After a stressful weekend we arrived at the hotel on a Sunday evening and were greeted very kindly by Mr Enrico. Our questions about excursions etc... he could answer all and with appropriate material we then took the elevator to our room. We had a "Deluxe Family Suite with 2 sep. Bedrooms, small living room and balcony booked. "WOW", what lovely bright spacious rooms!!! We felt very comfortable and also slept wonderfully. The hotel is very nicely renovated and you can still feel the "scent" of the interesting past. Breakfast was good, although the buns might be a bit crispier but we were lucky enough to experience the opening night of the new chef. The food was delicious, very nicely arranged and although we ate late, very well tolerated. The restaurant is really highly recommended and also the coffee time on the terrace. Unfortunately we were only there 3 days but we would definitely like to come back.
