Terrible, terrible hotel! Arrived on the first night to find that our room had been sold to someone else. Rather than having the balcony with mountain view that we booked, we were given the choice of either a self catering basement garden or a room on the road right next to a VERY LOUD nightclub - both of which were outside the hotel complex. After raising that this was not what we booked, the next day we were moved to a room with the balcony with mountain view we booked. There was no electric in the bedroom and although the room had 2 TVs, neither one in either room worked due to the shoddy electrics . We reported it immediately, but the handyman couldn't fix it. On day 3 we chased again and nothing was done. On day 5 of our 7 day stay (without light or power in our bedroom), an electrician was finally sent after we kept reporting the issue and nothing being done The electrics were updated and the TV worked for 5 mins...before everything then tripped several times. On day 6 we were told the issue was due to both air con units being on, although we only ever used one. The hotel then turned off the good air con unit that we used. We reported that we needed that unit working and again was assured it would be fixed immediately; certainly before we came home that night. We came home to find no air con (on a 21 degree night). What had been left tripped every few minutes (as witnessed 3 times by the night porter). Everything in the fridge / freezer was warm / defrosted. We had no battery for either of our phones to get us home the following day, as the power kept tripping so the phones could not charge. Add to that, the bar staff repeatedly attempted to charge for large drinks (6.50 Euros), when we were only having smaller drinks, as only smaller plastic glasses are to be served next to the pool, but they kept trying to charge for large glass glasses. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!

Kavos Bay Hotel is one of those rare places that you thought were extinct (or never for real): Family-run in a breathtaking location, with a friendly and unpretentious ‘Greek island’ atmosphere. Rooms are sparkling clean and air conditioned, and they all have a balcony with panoramic sea views. Beds are comfortable and the place is quiet and peaceful at night, which means you should be guaranteed a good night’s sleep. The food is home-made, traditional and absolutely delicious. If you want to swim in the sea, there are several options (from volcanic rocks to sandy beach), and the surroundings are easy to explore by foot or by bike. In the small town Agia Marina, a twenty-minute walk away, there’s a small supermarket, a chemist, bike rental, restaurants and several nice clothes-, jewellery- and souvenir shops. If you want to stay connected, there’s decent wifi as well as TVs in the rooms. That said, Kavos Bay is the perfect place to detach, relax, read a good book or write that book, or just dangle your feet. A true gem! Highly recommended!

I can say that it's not a hotel - it's a family home where people wait for the guests and the guests become the members of big friendly Greek family. Very friendly atmosphere- the owners pick up their guests from port and come to say goodbye even in the early morning. The terrace and view from it it's amazing - I could sit there for hours. If we'll come to Aegina once more we'll definitely stay in Kavos bay.
