Delphi Art Hotel

I only emphasize the sympathy of the staff and the breakfast that was pleasant. The experience was very bad and disappointing. The hotel urgently needs renovation, it is quite degraded, the elevator only worked sometimes and the cleanliness is not the best. To add the surrounding area is very poorly visited, the square that is located in front of the hotel had everything to be pleasant but is occupied by drug addicts who consume there throughout the day and there stay resting. It was a frightening experience. I would not repeat the stay at the Delphi Art Hotel.

Welcoming and helpful staff Decent breakfast The dinner and lunch taken at the hotel across the street, we were not informed about this at the reservation, the meals were very average… Room cleaned every day, but quite old with a lack of maintenance, single glazing so we can hear everything that happens at night. Good bedding. A neighborhood not to walk alone in the evening, streets with drug users nearby. With police passing by but it serves no purpose.

Stayed with the family for a few nights. Arrived in the pouring rain, which gave us a different view of the area, as even the drug users that frequent the vicinity can't shoot up in a monsoon. The city has a (much written about) drugs problem. However, it is still shocking and upsetting to see old, destitute vagabonds shoving syringes in their arms on the hotel doorstep. The hotel itself is very old and tired. Wallpaper falling off, threadbare carpet. They are trying to do bits and are changing all the mattresses throughout the hotel. It needs sorting much more than a good clean though. The lift is dangerous. It operates without closing the internal door so be careful with kids in there. It broke twice during our stay. The stairs are not a great option to the 4th floor with three children! Breakfast was very average. The coffee machine isn't great. Toast, cereal and a small selection of warm bits. The staff, despite the hotel's desperate need for investment, are really helpful and pleasant. They made us feel welcome and were very courteous. Would I go back to this hotel? No. Would I go back to Athens? Also no.
