Melia Athens

We stayed at Melia Athens twice during this Greece trip. We found it centrally located and easy to access most attractions by foot and public transport. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Onsite amenities were easily accessible and the rooftop pool and bar with views of the Acropolis made our stay that much more unforgettable. The restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. After our return from the islands, they remembered one of our birthdays and had cake and wine in the room for us. We were left impressed by this personal touch.

Hotel in a great location, just 2 steps from the center and the subway. The Cafe Mondo restaurant has excellent quality food, as does the pool's sky lounge. The staff is very kind and very helpful. The pool is very nice, but the water is very cold and the jacuzzi was out of service. The only small suggestion is regarding the room with the VIP Experience treatment; the offer should be reviewed as there are not many significant differences. Perhaps I would enrich the treatment with something else, but this is of little importance.

The hotel rooms are very nice and the pool area has a stunning view of The Acropolis area. Staff were also very friendly. However it’s quite a walk to The Old Town/Acropolis. Took us about 30 minutes. The first 5 minutes or so of walking is not through a particularly nice area but after that it’s fine. Wasn’t really impressed with the breakfast. Tables are very close together. Food was not replenished quickly enough and cooked food was not particularly tasty.
